On Wednesday, May 11, Dieudonné Ishimwe, also known as Prince Kid, appeared at Kicukiro Primary Court, where he is scheduled to request bail.
Ishimwe is the founder and CEO of Rwanda Inspirational Backup, which organized the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant.
On April 26, he was arrested on charges of sexual assault against beauty pageant contestants on various occasions.
The case was handed over to the National Public Prosecution Authority (NPPA) a few days later, on May 4, and the preliminary investigation found that the defendant faces three charges, according to the investigation body.
Rape, soliciting or giving sexual favors, and harassment are the charges.
According to RIB spokesperson Thierry Murangira, Ishimwe allegedly committed the crimes over a period of several years.
